Who am I?
Michael Rautio MSU 2022 Media and Info with a focus in film.
I was only 12 years old the first time I set up an old camera on a stack of boxes to film my TV, unknowingly starting my journey into the world of film. Over the years I’ve gone from gaming videos to comedy shorts to music videos to writing, directing, and editing my own feature film, to creating a production company with my colleagues at Michigan State University that specializes in High production value comedy shorts. With every project I create, I strive to make sure the next one is better, whether it’s the quality, the planning, the shots, the sound, the writing, whatever the case may be, I want my next video to be better than my last. It’s this mentality that has allowed me to grow over the years and learn from my mistakes. Teaching myself how to use a camera because I didn’t know what the ISO was, saving money to buy better equipment so that my next film will look even better, and making connections with each person I work with and building a relationships that will carry on outside of the world of film. It’s all of these things that have brought me to where I am, and I can't wait to see where the future will take me.

TurtlePod
TurtlePod is a media production company that I started in May 2021 with my colleague Clay Murphy. Our mission is to create high production value comedy shorts that are inspired by things like Anime, Satire, Parodies, and Camp Humor. While most of our content is being released on YouTube, we have plans to expand to other platforms, add new team members, and produce more original content.
